Against the Current

againstthecurrent.promoAgainst the Current (often familiarized as ATC) was formed in early 2011 by Daniel Gow, Will Ferri and Jeremy Rompala.  Chrissy Costanza joined Against the Current as their lead vocalist a few months later during the Summer of 2011 after being introduced to Dan, Will and Jeremy by a mutual friend.  Against the Current is based out of Poughkeepsie, New York.

During their first year together as band ATC just wrote music, practice, hung out and dreamt big. They would get together at one of each of the band members houses for practice on weekends and work hard all weekend to get everything done they needed to do.  ATC soon after started to gain a seizable YouTube following after posting their covers of popular songs by a variety of different artists.

ATC gained a considerable amount of fame on YouTube after posting various cover songs and working with other Famous YouTube cover artists such as Alex Goot and Sam Tsui.  Because of their YouTube exposure ATC gained quite a large fan base and their career as a band took off very rapidly.  They began touring with various bands such as Metro Station and Set It Off.

cookieOn May 27th 2014, Against the Current released their debut EP, Infinity, which they released independently through online distribution. They began touring in support of the release of Infinity throughout most of 2014. After touring, they entered the studio to record their next EP, Gravity which released on February 17th, 2015. The EP featured six songs, and included a guest appearance from Taka of One OK Rock on the song ‘”Dreaming Alone”.

A few weeks after the release of Gravity, Against the Current announced that they had been signed by the label Fueled By Ramen on March 4th, 2015. After the Glamour Kills Spring Break 15’ tour, ATC entered the studio to record their debut full-length album, which is estimated to released later this year or in early 2016. On August 1st, 2015, Against the Current has announced that they have finished recording their first full-length album.

atcposterthumb_1024x1024On May 22nd, 2015, the band announced their first headling world tour, called the Gravity World Tour in support of their newly released EP bringing their FBR label mates Vinyl Theater as well as Julie Vera on the road with them on the North America leg of the tour . The Gravity World Tour will be over the span of 3 months, from August 2015 to November 2015, playing shows in various continents including North America, Asia, and Europe.
